Why Is The Library Important To A School?
School libraries are here to ensure that students are information literate, which means they are effective users of information and ideas. This is accomplished by: Providing access to materials in all formats (books, periodicals, audiovisual and electronic sources) Providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing and using information and ideas Working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of all students
School libraries also: Improve student achievement on standardized tests Help students to develop a lifelong love of reading and literature Serve as a resource for teachers to enhance classroom instruction Provide computer access and technology instruction And much, much more...WE LOVE LIBRARIES
